Pardon the questions but I'm just looking for some info before I put my bike back together. Does anyone know if these WSM Banshee pistons will work in an '81 RD350LC? The pin and dome all line up but the intake ports don't, and they are larger too. The skirt is shorter than the stock pistons. Thanks a bunch.

Re: WSM Pistons in an '81
Just to see, I have the pistons in and put one of the cylinders on and cycled the piston up and down. The ports line up pretty good from what it seems.

There are at least two types of banshee pistons.
Stock connecting rod
And +4MM long rod
So are you using a stock crank+rod or a stroker crank with long rods.
Do you have the wsm part number?
If the pins and dome line up it should work.

You Didn't !!?
Pull the stupid inadequate things and remove that lump of piston skirt that hangs down betwixt the Piston holes. (google for instructions/why)
That extraneous bit of skirt can catch on the LC's inlet port bottom... Sooner or later. There is No inlet port divider in a LC
If it catches..you get to buy/build a brand new engine.. properly.
