New RG500 Owner

#1 Post by preacherman » Sun Aug 30, 2009 8:51 pm

Hi all

After 18 years of longing and hoping and dreaming I finally bought a RG500 recently. It is painted in the Lucky Strike Pepsi colours and I was fortunate enough to but the leathers to match.

I am still in shock that I actually own one of these at last...now comes the hard work eh!!

The bike is rideable but I will be putting new tyres on it as the tyres are really OLD.

Anyone recommend a make of tyre out there. I cannot see myself needing too soft a compound as the only time I will graze my knww pads is if I fall off the bike. SO a good long wearing yet safe compound and tyre tread would be grea.

Took the bike up the road yesterday...amazing!! I will tidy up the bike and deal with a few paint chips and prepare for rego now.

I thought I would start a new Yahoo group for RG Owners or two stroke enthusiasts. The link is:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Suzuki_RG500Gamma/

All are welcome.

A pic of my bike is on the home page...worth a look!! How many RG 500 owners in Oz?

Congrats.

Now you need to get on the gammalist http://www.edj.net/gammalist

More gamma knowledge and info there than one can ingest.
