Ignitech 421 Cheetah Cub

#1 Post by Si-nsr421 » Wed Sep 01, 2021 5:14 am

Hey Guys, its been about 25 years since i posted on a forum so apologies in advance for any topic ettiquette mishaps.

I'm half way through a 421 cheetah cub build.
Recently received a p2 ignitech and was wondering if anyone had a base map I could start with, I know Dave from Mutts Nutts has one but he's quiet busy as of late and not taking on any calls or sales.

I'm also looking to get some help in the wiring aspect:
pinouts to the pickup (vape) - I assume the yellow cable from the vape goes to either pin 9 or 16 ??
and coils.

I should mention,
it is a custom wiring harness (not yet made but have designed the wiring diagram)

if anyone could help out that would be awesome

TIA

You can find a guide to create a curve draft here:

(Scroll forward, it's rather at the end).

Concerning polarity of your pick up the most secure method is having a look at the signal with an oscilloscope when kicking.

In a nutshell it only has two wires, one needs to be connected to "sensor ground" (VR-) the other one (VR+) goes to the CDI.
If there's only one cable, you can't do wrong, as that's the VR+ signal.
Bye
